SCHOOL EXPECTATIONS


  1. A. Arrive to class on time.

B. Have materials signed and assignments completed on time.

C. Move through the building in a quiet, orderly manner.

D.  Follow school, classroom and cafeteria rules.

E.  Respect school property and property of others.

F.  Use appropriate language.

G.  Settle conflicts appropriately.

H. Treat other students, adults, and guests with respect.

I.   Contribute to the educational process.

j.   Cooperate with staff and peers

Student Behavior is Categorized According to Tiers:


Tier 1= No Behavior Problems.


Tier 2= Minor Behavior Problems.

*Intervention will be used to reduce behavior issues. For example, Think Time, contacting parent, or loss of privileges at school.


Tier 3= Behaviors that are habitual, disruptive or unsafe.


* A Progressive Discipline Program will be applied.  BES staff and parents will work together to help modify the behaviors and reduce incidents.

Positive Reinforcement


All teachers and paraprofessionals will have “Caught You Being Good” tickets to give out at their discretion. 


These tickets will be collected, and once a month there will be a drawing from each grade level to have lunch with the principal. 


Also, fun school wide activities for all Tier 1 and Tier 2 students will be scheduled mid-year and year end.

Progressive Discipline


Student progress through these levels if misbehavior continues:


  1. 1.Classroom interventions

  2. 2.Think Time:  Student will go to another classroom to do reflective writing about their behavior. When a second Think Time is issued within a short period, the parent will be contacted.

  3. 3.Continuous inability to follow school rules will result in office referrals, lunch detention, or other consequences assigned on an individual basis.

  4. 4.Serious student misconduct will result in administrative actions such as in or out of school suspension or expulsion.
