School Improvement Plan

Blaine High School is focused on helping all students become literate, independent learners with decision making skills necessary to reach their potential through staff participation in their Professional Learning Community.  Specifically our goals fall in the areas of reading, writing , mathematics and graduation.

1.      Improve student’s knowledge and skills in mathematics at least 10% as measured by the 2008 10th grade WASL.
2.      90% passing the 10th grade WASL Writing in 2008.
3.      Increase the number of students passing the reading section of the WASL by 10% each year until 100% is achieved.
4.      Increase graduation rate 3% each year until 100% of our students are graduating.

Invitation to Parents
Parents have access to the academic progress of students through Duxdata, Course Syllabus’, Parent Teacher Conferences and teacher availability.  We realize how vital the role of parental involvement is in the education of our high school students.  In this regard, we continually welcome parents/guardians to join us in collaborating to solve problems and create solutions in our paramount responsibility.
