School Improvement Plan

Our school improvement plan is focused on improving WASL participation and performance, and alleviating overcrowding. Specifically our goals fall into 3 areas: reading, facilities and math.

1. We will increase the number of 4th graders meeting the WASL reading standard to 90% .

2. We will continue to seek more appropriate facilities.  We are encouraged that three area congregations are investigating new, improved facilities and each understands HomeConnection's needs.

3. Since our parents are their children’s primary teachers, we will emphasize the district’s efforts by increasing our family's enthusiasm for math education. We will renew membership in SMATE (Science, Mathematics, and Technology  Education) and provide an in-service training in use of this facility.  SMATE is a national model for improving teacher preparation in Math, Science and Technology.

Invitation to Parents

Continual parental involvement is required of all families. Parents teach core academic subjects at home and supervise their children’s daily off-site learning activities. For each student, parents develop a learning plan for the year and submit monthly progress reviews. Parents of children age 12 and younger are required to remain on-site while their children attend on-site enrichment classes.
