Blaine School District Learning Improvement Days |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The state provides two days and our district receives a waiver for three days, giving us a total of 5 LIDs a year. These days are extremely valuable as they allow us the opportunity to work collaboratively within grade levels, school wide and district wide. We spend our time learning about current best practices, reviewing data and research based programs/ideas to support our day to day instruction. We also spend this time aligning what we do so that as students move from one grade to the next, there is continuity. 2009-2010 Learning Improvement Days (LID): September 28, 2009 October 19, 2009 February 1, 2010 March 22, 2010 2009-2010 Non-student day/Floating LID: May 10, 2010 The content of these days stem from the building School Improvement Plans (SIPs). Based on WASL results, school data, classroom data and SIPs, our focus on these days has been mathematics, science, RTI, AVID, reading and writing.
