Blaine School District Learning Improvement Days |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The state provides two days and our district receives a waiver for three days, giving us a total of 5 LIDs a year. These days are extremely valuable as they allow us the opportunity to work collaboratively within grade levels, school wide and district wide. We spend our time learning about current best practices, reviewing data and research based programs/ideas to support our day to day instruction. We also spend this time aligning what we do so that as students move from one grade to the next, there is continuity. 2007-2008 Learning Improvement Days: September 24, 2007 October 15, 2007 February 4, 2008 March 24, 2008 The content of these days stem from the building School Improvement Plans (SIPs). Based on WASL results and SIPs, our focus on these days has been mathematics and science.
*Every LID at the HS also includes Senior Projects/Advanced Placement/ABC’s Content* If you would like more specific information, please contact your school principal or our district Curriculum/Instruction/Assessment director. Glossary of Terms
