I moved to this area from Missouri in 1999. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate work at the University of Missouri. In the years just previous to our move, I worked for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as an educational consultant to school districts and various educational agencies. I am currently living in Point Roberts with my husband, two dogs, and 4 horses (3 miniatures). I love spending time with my family, reading, traveling, and doing almost anything outdoors. Teaching at Pt. Roberts Primary is a real treat for me. I am enjoying the students, the wonderful staff and the setting. |

I have lived in Point Roberts since 2000. I was a pediatric RN for 10 years until I became a stay at home mom for my three children. While studying to become an RN, I worked in the Engineering Co-op office at the University of Washington and also did childcare for the Quakers. During my school breaks, I was a preschool teacher in Juneau, Alaska. I came to Point Roberts Primary in August of 2008 and feel thrilled and honored to have this position. This school is an amazing place…where else do children have such small classes, weekly trail walks, monthly beach trips, and so many involved community members contributing to their education? It’s location in the center of the woods, near a large field and not far from a pond; with eagle and heron flying overhead and crickets chirping all around creates a dreamlike atmosphere perfect for imaginative learning. I have no doubt these fortunate children will look back at their time here with the same appreciation I have everyday.
