football stadium and turf field

Good evening students, staff, families and community,

I hope this message finds you well on this first evening of our mid-winter break. I know many of you are waiting and wondering if it will be a snowy weekend. For the sake of our many students who have been waiting for a chance to play in it, I hope we get just enough flurries to bring them joy.

As we announced last week, our Season 1 athletic practices have begun, and we appreciate all those who took time to attend the parent and student information meeting earlier this week. Regulations regarding gathering during COVID will prevent us from having many fans in the stands, with the exception of a small group of parents, so our staff are working hard to bring you the events in a new way. They will be live streaming on our new YouTube channel Borderite Sports, so head on over and subscribe to be kept up to date on what’s coming up.

I would like to thank our parents and students who took time to fill out our most recent survey. That particular survey is collecting high level data we will be able to use for comparison over the coming years. However, we also heard you when you said you wanted to be able to provide more detail. We will publish a survey in March that is specific to learning during COVID and affords you the opportunity to add comments. In addition, I am planning to hold virtual focus group feedback sessions, beginning with parents of Special Education students.

While we are adding these new opportunities to offer feedback, please know that I will continue to host regular Community Q&A’s, and I encourage you to attend. Our next Q&A will be Monday, March 1st at 6 P.M. I began these before COVID as our Supper with the Superintendent events, and intend to return to that format when we are able. It is my way of making myself available to you and ensuring you know I am always willing to listen.

Please know you never have to wait for one of these events to reach out to me. I am just an email or a phone call away, and I am here to serve the students and families of our district. It is a great night to be a Borderite, and, as always, a great night to be your superintendent. I wish you all a wonderful long weekend.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christopher Granger
