teacher holding framed certificate

We are proud to announce Ms. Susan Alexander has been selected as the 2021 Lynden/Ferndale International Masonic Lodge's Educator of the Year for Blaine School District. Ms. Alexander is a teacher at Blaine Middle School and has been with Blaine School District for seven years.

Here are just a few things her co-workers had to say about why she was deserving of this honor;

"Susan is an incredibly dedicated teacher! She puts her soul into everything she does. She works hard to help kids truly understand math and science AND have fun while doing it. She believes in pushing kids and also supporting them. She sees the kids not only as students, but as people and she is supportive and understanding of their needs."
"She is a very reflective teacher and is constantly working to grow as a teacher and provide the very best practices for her students. She spends a lot of time looking for new ideas for how to help kids understand the content and stay engaged."
"She is willing to ask questions and voice her opinion in order for our building to be the best place it can be for students and staff."

Representatives of the Masonic Lodge will present Ms. Alexander with her award at the district's upcoming Board of Directors meeting on Monday, May 24.

Congratulations Ms. Alexander! We are proud to have you on our team!
