Dr. Granger's Community Message June 4, 2021

Good evening students, staff, families and community,

I hope that you have been able to enjoy these beautiful spring days as we count down to the end of this unusual school year. Thank you for your strength, endurance, and patience as we have navigated this pandemic emergency. We are looking forward to the return of all students in school every day for the 2021-2022 school year.

Congratulations, Class of 2021!
Our graduating seniors have worked hard to achieve their goals, and they have persevered through unprecedented circumstances. It is with great pride that we look forward to watching the Class of 2021 receive their diplomas next Friday, and we want to extend sincere congratulations to these seniors and their families.

Chromebooks
This is a reminder that all Chromebooks will be returned to the school district beginning this week on June 9 for in-person students and June 11 for online-only students. If you could assist us by locating the following items for return, it is greatly appreciated.

  • Chromebook device
  • Charger
  • Bag

Summer Academic Support
The district will be providing access to a math support program, Dreambox, for all students over the summer. While this is not required, we are hoping students will spend some time this summer reading and working on math skills when they are able.

Summer Access to Borderite Stadium/Track
We are excited for our student athletes to be gearing up for summer workouts in preparation for the 2021-2022 school year. After reviewing the student team needs for facility use, the following times will be available for general community use of the stadium beginning on Monday, June 21.

June 21, 2021  -  August 16, 2021

  • Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 9:00 am and 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Saturday - Sunday 6:00 am - 8:00 pm

General community members will enter the stadium through the south gate adjoining the parking lot next to the old concession stand. We ask that you abide by all posted rules for safety and protection of the field turf which are posted by the entrance.

Community access times for after August 16 will be determined in the summer and communicated in August when we have a better idea of team and student use times for those seasons.

Upcoming Events

  • June 7: Community Q&A - 6:00 pm
  • June 9: 2nd to 3rd Grade Transition Night - 6:00 pm
  • June 11: BHS Graduation - 6:00 pm

It is a great night to be a Borderite, and, as always, a great night to be your superintendent.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christopher Granger
