New Drop Off Routine in Central Parking Lot

Restricted Lane in Central Parking Lot

Over the past few years, we have experienced an increase in the number of students being dropped off in the morning along the sidewalk adjacent to the Middle School. We witness cars and buses competing for what is designated as a bus lane, resulting in dangerous situations, especially for pedestrians.

In the new school year, specifically in the mornings, only buses will be allowed to proceed into the traffic lane at the far north end of the central parking lot, directly adjacent to the PAC. Cars will be diverted into the first parking lane and parents will have the option of dropping their student(s) off either at the cross walk to the PAC or they can pull all the way through this lane and drop their student(s) off at the sidewalk along the Elementary School tennis court and field. Our bus drivers have been instructed that they will need to wait for a car in front of them to clear before proceeding along the curb on that west side of the parking lot.

On the east side of the parking lot, in front of the gym complex, cars will not be permitted to drop off students along the curb that is designated for bus drop off.

While we understand that parents will need time to adjust to this transition in our drop off routine, we greatly appreciate the patience and cooperation of all parties as we seek to provide a safer situation for our students.
