Blaine School District, in partnership with the Whatcom County Health Department is pleased to announce we will be offering a free training, Youth Mental Health First Aid on Thursday, March 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, school staff, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. We offered this training last year and it was a huge success! Please consider joining us for this quality training opportunity. Click here to register.
