The Blaine School District's Board of Directors has the following three positions open for election on November 5, 2019.
- Director District 1: includes Point Roberts and downtown Blaine
- Director District 2: includes areas east and southeast of Blaine
- Director District 4: includes the area south of Blaine and parts of east Birch Bay
These open positions are four-year terms expiring in 2023. The current Directors will hold office until December 2019 and are also eligible to run for re-election. Anyone interested in filing for the election must be a registered voter residing inside the boundaries of the Director District to be represented. Links to Director District boundary maps are provided in the above list, as well as on the Board of Directors web page. The Whatcom County Auditor's Office (360-778-5100) can also verify a voter's Director District and will provide complete instructions on filing for the election. The filing period for these open positions is May 13-17. Prospective candidates may file online, by mail, or in person.
The Washington State School Directors Association (WSSDA) will provide updated information in the coming weeks on their School Board Candidate website. An informational meeting will also take place at the Blaine School District Office on April 18 from 4-5pm.
