That being said, this student will not be permitted to return to school until an extended investigation into this matter can be conducted. With the extended number of days lost to inclement weather during the month of February, five (5) to date in our case, Whatcom County districts are starting the process of projecting calendar implications. Our 2018-19 calendar calls for the first three days lost to be made up on June 14-17-18, and that is what we anticipate at this time. As the additional two days are eligible for waiver application to OSPI, we are in the process of considering recommendation of said application to the Board. Once approved by OSPI, and provided that there are no additional days lost, we can move forward with formal designation of June 18 as the final day of the current school year.

Blaine School District is cancelling school on Thursday, February 14. Our maintenance and grounds staff have done an incredible job of removing 12-14 inches of snow off of campus parking lots and sidewalks over the past three days. We also greatly appreciate the efforts of both the City of Blaine and Whatcom County road clearing crews. However, there remains too much compact snow and ice across many areas of the District to be able to run our busses safely, especially on secondary roads. Once school resumes next week, we will start the process of determining the impact of this extended storm on the school calendar. Please stay safe, and we look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday.

Dear Parents/Guardians, Student lead conferences will be happening November 15, 16, 19, and 20 from 1 - 3:20 pm and on November 15 from 5 - 8 pm. Please schedule your conference on line using YOUR Family Access account. The following info will assist you with scheduling but please keep in mind the following items: You MUST log in as THE PARENT (not as the student). IF you need your Family Access login information call the school office. Select the "conferences" tab (should be on the left side of the screen when you log in as YOU) then proceed scheduling your conference (see note next bullet points). 6th grade students with Zaccheo/Johnson or Schweinsberg/Creager will schedule through the LA/SS teacher - the Math/Science teacher will be at the conference. 6th grade students with Minckler/Higgins/Schutt will schedule through their FIRST period teacher. ALL 7th grade students are scheduled through their FIRST period teacher. ALL 8th grade students are scheduled through their FIRST period teacher. NOTE: For the FIRST period teacher conferences, other teachers will NOT be at that conference (unless you were called already). IF you want to see other teachers you can "stop by" the day of to sign up on any open spots. We look forward to your participation and thank you in advance for scheduling your conference quickly if you haven't already done so.
