Capital Projects Information
Blaine School District values the support of our community in making improvements to our campus facilities. Voters approved a Capital Projects Bond in 2015, as well as a Technology and Capital Projects Levy in 2018. Our district is privileged to have the opportunity to make much needed improvements to multiple facilities with these resources. Blaine School District Stadium Complex
Grandstand: The High School Grandstand project consists of two separate components. The main skeletal structure of the bleachers is now in place. Installation of the detailed elements is ongoing. Interior finish work in the press box is also underway. Work on the underlying structures is nearly complete and includes new restrooms, a concession stand, a storage building, and ticket booth. Fencing installation is underway. Additional work in the parking lot area has begun.
Field Turf: At their meeting on October 28, 2019, the Board authorized the District's purchase of field turf in anticipation of installation in the spring of 2020.
Birch Bay Property Purchase for Future School Site
FLO Analytics presented their school site suitability analysis tool to the Board at their Special Meeting on October 21st. Community input sessions will be held on October 30th and November 18th. The Board will hold a second Special Meeting with FLO Analytics on November 12th for discussion of the input received from the first session. |BLAINE HIGH SCHOOL|
The track was repaired and resurfaced in the summer of 2015.
The new greenhouse was completed during the winter of 2017.
New tennis courts were completed in the summer of 2017.
The first phase of the High School project was completed in the fall of 2017, and the second phase was completed in the fall of 2018.
The third phase of the High School project included a large central courtyard which was completed in August 2019.
The full core facility at Blaine High School was completed in October 2019 and celebrated with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony.
|BLAINE PRIMARY SCHOOL|
New playground equipment was installed in the summer of 2015.
The large covered play area was enclosed in the summer of 2016.
A small covered area was converted into a new music room in the summer of 2016.
The existing roof was repaired and replaced in the summer of 2016.
Blaine Primary School's additional classroom wing was completed in the summer of 2016.
|BLAINE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL|
Carpet and vinyl flooring was installed in the summer of 2015.
New playground equipment was installed in September of 2016.
Classroom and play shed remodel completed in September 2018.
|CAPITAL MAINTENANCE AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS|
The Middle School Gym Parking Lot and the fire lane along the west side of the PAC were resurfaced in the summer of 2015.
Re-striping of all campus parking lots was done in the summer of 2015.
Roofing projects at both Blaine Middle School and Pt. Roberts Primary School were completed in the summer of 2015.
Installation of the new playground at Point Roberts Primary School was completed in October 2015.
The old tennis courts at Blaine Elementary School were resurfaced in July 2017.
Replacement of existing door locking systems in the Primary, Elementary, and Middle Schools was completed in the summer of 2018, including cameras at key entry points to facilitate remote operation. The High School's remote locking system was installed and operational as of February 2019.
