Blaine High School Construction Progress
Core Facility: Spee West Construction broke ground on Phase I of the High School project in July 2016. Phase II began in July 2017. The third and final phase is now underway.
Phase I: The first phase of construction was completed in the Fall of 2017. Since that time, students and staff have enjoyed the expanded opportunities available in this new facility which includes a cafeteria, small theater, CTE shops, and additional classroom space. Due to the expanded need for office space, the student lounge area is being converted to offices. A new parking lot was also added on the south side of campus.
Phase II: Occupancy was approved in time for the arrival of students at the start of the 2018-19 school year, and they have been enjoying the modern classrooms in this new two-story facility.
Phase III: Demolition in the summer of 2018 cleared out an area that will become the center courtyard of the high school campus. Renovation work is now underway on the library, offices, and east-side classroom areas. During this final phase of construction, the library and administration offices are temporarily housed in the Phase I building.
Grandstand: The High School Grandstand project consists of two separate components. Manufacturing of the bleachers and press box is currently underway, with delivery anticipated sometime in the fall. Dawson Construction started work on the underlying structure in April 2019.
