Family letter

Dear Point Roberts Parents and Community Members,

We are reaching out to clarify the purpose of the meeting on January 30, 2026.

This meeting is intended for current families and incoming families as an opportunity to

begin an open and thoughtful conversation with families of school aged children or who

have children who will be school aged in a couple of years. Our goal is to listen,

welcome you and make sure we understand the needs, hopes, and priorities of the

Point Roberts families.

For safety reasons, it would be irresponsible of us to host a community wide meeting on

campus while school is in session. That was never our intention and we apologize if our

communication was not clear on this matter. This was scheduled to be one of our

regular visits to Point Roberts Primary.

We are willing to hold a separate meeting outside of school hours that allows us to

ensure the safety of students while still creating space for meaningful community

dialogue. We will schedule a meeting in the near future so we can discuss a vision for

Point Roberts Primary School. Again, this meeting will not take place on January 30,

2026. Tomorrow we will meet with parents of current or future students.

We recognize how important Point Roberts is to the families it serves, and we value the

voices of those who live, learn, and work here. Your perspectives will help inform future

discussions and guide our thinking as we consider possible paths forward.

Thank you for your understanding, your engagement, and your continued partnership.

We look forward to a respectful, collaborative conversation and to working together as

we explore what the future could look like for Point Roberts.

Sincerely,

Dan Chaplik, Superintendent Linsey Pike, Principal

Blaine School District Point Roberts Primary School
