Dear Borderite Families,
As we wrap up the school year and head into summer, I want to thank you for your continued partnership and support. It has been a joy to watch your children grow, learn, and thrive this year!
Looking ahead, we’re excited to begin the next chapter as a unified school community. Starting this fall, Blaine Elementary will serve students in 1st through 5th grade, while the Blaine Elementary – Early Learning Center will be home to our Preschool, Transition to Kindergarten, and Kindergarten learners.
I will continue as the principal for both buildings, and I’m pleased to share that Linsey Pike will serve as the Early Learning Administrator, and Jessie Hettinga will continue supporting grades 1–5 as our Assistant Principal. We’re lucky to have such a dedicated team moving forward.
In August, we’ll share important back-to-school information, including updates on pick-up and drop-off routines. Teacher assignments will be available in Family Access starting August 21st, and the school office will reopen on August 18th. You can expect our first newsletter of the new year to arrive via ParentSquare on August 22nd.
Until then, we wish you a joyful, restful summer. Thank you for being such an important part of our Borderite family!

As a result of ongoing conditions, all Blaine schools will start 2 hours late at 10:20AM on Friday, February 7. There will be no preschool. Continue to check back until 7AM in case conditions change. Decisions regarding buses and after school activities will be finalized in the morning.
All schools are closed on Thursday, February 6, due to snow. Also, all athletics and campus activities are canceled and no out of district transportation.
As a result of ongoing road conditions in parts of the district and new snow this morning, all schools will be CLOSED on Wednesday, February 5. Thank you and have a safe day!
We are thankful for our Facilities personnel who worked diligently on Monday to clear our campus walkways and parking lots. However, as of 6pm, it is clear that unsafe conditions will continue on Tuesday. To help staff and families prepare, the decision is being made early to close all schools on Tuesday, February 4, due to unsafe winter weather conditions. All athletics, extracurricular, and any campus activities, are also canceled on Tuesday.
