Superintendent's Weekly Message

Dear students, staff, families and community,

Next week the quarter will come to a close on our campuses. Monday, October 25th is a late start date with schools and bus routes 2 hours later than normal. Friday, October 29th is a non-student day. If you haven’t already checked in with your student about missing assignments for this quarter, there’s still time. For grades 6-12 you can find that information in Skyward Family Access.

We have added a new member to our district-wide COVID-19 response team. The addition of a COVID coordinator who can offer support to all of our campuses has helped to ease some of the workload of contact tracing. It has also provided us the opportunity to expand on our service of offering PCR tests to our students.

COVID PCR tests are available for Blaine School District students who are experiencing one or more COVID symptoms which have lasted for more than 24 hours. The testing is conducted at the north side of the middle school gym on the corner of H and Mitchell Streets between 10:30 and 11:00 A.M. each school day. You must pre-register for the testing by contacting your student’s school office or speaking directly to a member of our nursing staff. If you are coming for testing, please enter the parking lot from Mitchell, by the north door of the Elementary school, then drive around the middle school gym to the white tent. Please remain in your car for testing, and exit the parking lot onto H Street.

On Tuesday, November 2nd I will host a virtual Q&A at 6:00 P.M. Look for the link to the meeting to be posted closer to the date. I look forward to the time when I can go back to hosting Supper with the Superintendent, but for now I hope you’ll join me online if you have questions.

It’s a great night to be a Borderite, and, as always, a great night to be your superintendent.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christopher Granger
