Community Message

Dear students, staff, families and community,

It’s Homecoming Week for the Borderites, and there have been lots of fun activities happening on campus. Tonight we’ll take on the Mountaineers in Borderite Stadium at 7 P.M. Homecoming is always a special time, and we look forward to welcoming many members of the Borderite Family as we come together tonight. Tonight’s game will also be available on our YouTube Channel Borderites Live.

TEACHERS, NURSES, AND DRIVERS, OH MY!

Our two recent Substitute Job Fairs brought many new people to inquire about substituting opportunities, but there is still need for more. We are always hiring substitutes for teaching, nursing, administrative assistants, bus drivers, food services, paraeducators and more! We are also still accepting applications for Emergency Substitute Teachers, for those with a bachelor's degree (or higher) in any field. If you have an interest in subbing, please view the requirements on our new Substitutes page.

UPCOMING LOCKDOWN DRILL NEXT WEEK

It is not typical for us to announce lockdown drills, but following the incident on our campus last spring we are mindful that staff and students will need time to prepare themselves before our first drill of the year. Using common language when talking with students about our drills is important. We encourage you to visit our YouTube Channel, Blaine School District, WA, over the weekend and view the Standard Response Protocol videos from the I Love You Guys Foundation (in our playlist “SRP”) . Familiarizing yourself with our processes will help you talk with and support your students.

UPCOMING DATES

Monday, Oct. 10th - 2 Hour Late Start K-12 Thursday, Oct. 13th - Mobile Dental Van @ BES (forms due 10/7)

Monday, Oct. 24th - 2 Hour Late Start K-12

I’d like to thank our community members who joined me for the recent Supper with the Superintendent. If you haven’t been to one yet, I hope you’ll stop by one in the future. I always appreciate the chance to connect with you, answer your questions, and address concerns. It’s a great night to be a Borderite, and, as always, a great night to be your superintendent.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christopher Granger
