Community Message

Dear students, staff, families and community,

This week our Fall sports will all wrap up their seasons, and we are proud of the efforts of all of our student athletes. Congratulations to our volleyball and soccer teams, who both played District games this week. Don’t forget, our swim team is still competing, with their District events this weekend.

CONFERENCES K-8

Conferences for students grades K-8 are happening next week, Nov 7th-10th, with early release for our K-8 students on those days. If you haven’t already received notification about a pre scheduled conference for your student or scheduled one yourself, you can do so through Family Access. For middle school students, it is only necessary to sign up for one time slot with one teacher.

WEATHER UPDATES

There is possible snow in the forecast next week. We will be making decisions related to weather from the perspective of a late start or school closure, with closures being made up with additional days at the end of the school year. There is the potential for late start days due to hazardous road conditions, even with early release for K-8 students.

We always aim to make these decisions as early as possible and will communicate with you through our social media accounts, website, Blaine SD app,  phone and email systems. This is a good time for you to check your contact information in Family Access to make sure it is up to date.

STAY HOME WHILE SICK

We want to remind families that students should stay home while sick. Students who have experienced fever, vomiting or diarrhea should not return until they have been without those symptoms for 24 hours without symptom reducing medication.

SUPPORTING BLAINE FOOD BANK

The district will be holding its annual “Blaine Gives Back” campaign to support the Blaine Food Bank the week of November 14th-18th. Our coin drive and monetary donation collection will coincide with student food drives across the district, so we can make the biggest impact possible to help our community members experiencing food insecurity. Watch for more information coming soon.
