culinary arts baking

Good evening students, staff, families and community,

Thank you to all those who were able to attend our Q&A event this week. I find this to be a great opportunity to connect with families and community members around their questions. We are hoping to return to in-person for those events soon (Supper with the Superintendent). Please  watch for upcoming announcements.

Mask Update

As we continue to progress through the COVID pandemic our local county numbers are improved. Starting this Monday, March 14, 2022 masks will be optional for students in our buildings. We want any person who chooses to continue wearing a mask in our facilities to know that they will be welcome to do so. Our building administrators have met with students and communicated the changes beginning Monday. If you have any questions please contact your student’s campus or the district office.

Hot Spots

At this time the Blaine School District will be recalling all district issued hot spots. We are not anticipating needing them for the remainder of the school year. All district issued hot spots are due no later than March 28th, to their school office. Please be sure to return all components of the hot spot. This includes the hot spot itself, the charging cord and charge block, as well as the box the device was issued in.

Around Campus

Did you know our district has a growing CTE (Community and Technical Education) Department? We offer a wide variety of options for our students from welding to horticulture, business law and culinary arts, to name a few. This week some of our students participated in a regional Cupcake Wars competition. Teams first competed against other BHS culinary students, and a panel of lucky volunteer judges selected the winners. Then four students went on to represent our school at the regional competition held at Meridian High School. Our Borderites represented us well and brought home the win. Congratulations!
