Knowledge Bowl Team

Good evening students, staff, families and community, 

We hope you have had a great week, with a little more daylight each day. We continue to be excited about the wonderful things our students and staff are doing across campus. 

More State Competitions! 

Students from our BHS Technology Students Association are competing at the State Competition this week and weekend. The participants include; Taylee Abshere, Sabrina Boczek, Stephanie Boczek, Noah Chilson, Maddy Ernst, London Fletcher, Rhyan Fuks, Shaanbir Gill, Samuel Heslop, Connor Hettinga, Julia Hubbard-Maxey, Damian Jackson, Tanner Karuza, Caleb Lacy. Jonathan Morris, Serenity Prewett, Simon Rasmussen, Tommy Stiles, Hayden Veals. 

BHS Knowledge Bowl will also be competing at the state level this weekend. The team (Xander Hodges, sophomore; Logan Thiessen, junior; Kaylee Tolsma, sophomore; and Xiao Zhou, sophomore) went three rounds head to head against Granite Falls High School to secure the single 1A slot from ESD189 to the state championship. The state tournament will be in Richland, WA tomorrow, Saturday, March 19 beginning at 8 A.M. The other 1A high schools participating are Montesano, Toppenish, and Zillah. Their coach Neva Beals said about the team, “I have every confidence that they will win the state championship this year!”

Hot Spots

Blaine School District is recalling all district issued hot spots. We are not anticipating needing them for the remainder of the school year. All district issued hot spots are due no later than March 28th, to their school office. Please be sure to return all components of the hot spot. This includes the hot spot itself, the charging cord and charge block, as well as the box the device was issued in.

Upcoming School Calendar Items:

  • Monday, March 21, 2022 - 2 hour late start 

  • March 29th-31st - K-8 Conferences/Early Release for K-8 

  • Monday April 4 - Friday April 8 - Spring Break
