VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in becoming a school volunteer. Your time is valuable and is such a tremendous gift to our students. We are grateful for your willingness to lend us your talent and energy. School volunteering is also richly rewarding.

Blaine Schools welcome community members to serve in a variety of volunteer roles. Some examples are: serving as general classroom assistants, chaperoning field trips, and tutoring or mentoring students. Take-home tasks or helping with after-school events and clubs are opportunities available to community members who are unable to volunteer during the school day.

All volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application packet prior to beginning service. The application permits a criminal history review through the Washington State Patrol. Once the application is approved, you will be notified via email that the volunteer is eligible to be issued a volunteer badge. Your initial approval email will provide instructions on how to set our appointment to collect your volunteer badge. You must have a volunteer badge to volunteer.

Your eligibility will remain valid for one school year.

If you are interested in volunteering, please download the application materials, or pick up a packet from your school office. Applications must be completed in full and returned to the school of your choice for pre approval by school personnel. Your application will then be forwarded to the district office so the background check can proceed.

Feel free to contact Tanya at (360)332-0717 or by email at tcarter@blainesd.org with any questions.
