Ryker Reneau Silver Medal

BHS Junior Ryker Reneau has been racing with the Baker 542 Ride Ski and Snowboard Team for four years now. Reneau recently  competed in the Regionals Winter Olympics Snowboarding Competition at Snoqualmie Pass and brought home the silver medal.

Started by Eunice Kennedy Shriver in 1968 as a way to provide people with intellectual disabilities a place to play and feel included, the Special Olympics have become a global movement with more than 5.7 million athletes competing in 200 countries and jurisdictions. Through the power of sports, participants discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success. The athletes find joy, confidence and fulfillment—on the playing field and in life.

Ryker's mom Tana said, "on the mountain, Ryker can do what others can’t!  On the mountain, Ryker has only ability and his disability vanishes! When I reflect on what Ryker has overcome and the success he has fought for and won, I’m humbled and amazed and so honored to be his mom!"

Thank you to Ryker and his mom for letting us share in the celebration of this exciting accomplishment. You are an exemplary representative of the Blaine Way; Building Community, Learning to Lead, Achieving Success, Inspiring Growth, Nourishing Potential, Educating for Greatness.  You are all of these things and more, and we are so very proud of you!
