Washington’s Public Universities and College are SAT/ACT Test Optional

If your student is confident in staying in-state for college, they do not need to take the SAT/ACT. Students will not be penalized during the admissions process nor will student eligibility for institutional supported scholarships, course placement or admissions to Honors programs be impacted due to the absence of a SAT or ACT standardized test score.

If your student is considering going out of state for college, we encourage them to take the SAT/ACT in the spring of their junior year or fall of their senior year.
