Welcome! Thank you for your interest in becoming a school volunteer. Your time is valuable and is such a tremendous gift to our students. We are grateful for your willingness to lend us your talent and energy. School volunteering is also richly rewarding.
Blaine Schools welcome community members to serve in a variety of volunteer roles. Some examples are: serving as general classroom assistants, chaperoning field trips, and tutoring or mentoring students. Take-home tasks or helping with after-school events and clubs are opportunities available to community members who are unable to volunteer during the school day.
All volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application packet, including copies of any required documents, prior to beginning service. The application permits a criminal history review through the Washington State Patrol. In addition, all employees, volunteers and indoor contractors in educational settings are required to be fully vaccinated or have a medical or religious exemption per Governor’s proclamation 21-14.3.
Please download the appropriate application materials from this page, or pick up a packet from your school office. Applications must be completed in full and returned to the school of your choice (or to the Athletic Department) for pre-approval by a school administrator. Your application will then be forwarded to the district office so your background check can proceed.
Once your application is approved, you will be notified of your status and given instructions on how to obtain a volunteer badge. Please allow a minimum of two weeks for this process. Your eligibility will remain valid for the length of the school year in which it was completed.
