teacher collaborative training

Good evening students, staff, families and community,

Spring Break has come and gone, and the last quarter of the school year is in full swing.

The Blaine Way Student Recognition

We kicked off Spring Break by recognizing about twenty students across the district for doing things The Blaine Way. Administrators in our schools handed out free pizza tickets from Westside Pizza to students who they observed;

Building Community
Learning to Lead
Achieving Success
Inspiring Growth
Nourishing Potential and
Educating for Greatness.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Westside Pizza for helping us recognize these traits in our students. Be on the lookout for more student recognitions with their help in the future.

Teaching and Learning Highlights

Staff and administrators across the district continue to work on our goal of positive student outcomes through collaboration and instruction. This week administrators spent time in classrooms practicing teaching our curriculum, so they can best support and lead staff. There was also a studio classroom, where math teachers were collaboratively learning in real time. We continue to be so impressed with the dedication and hard work of our staff.

Animals as Natural Therapy

In the month of April staff and volunteers from Animals as Natural Therapy will be making several visits to our campus, giving students of all ages an opportunity to interact with their animals. This week students from our Primary School were able to meet some bunnies, a chicken and a goat named Casper. It was a joy to watch them interacting and learning from one another, and we look forward to more of our students getting to experience this unique opportunity.

Arts & Jazz This Weekend

The Blaine Fine Arts Association's Arts & Jazz event is happening this Saturday, April 16th at 7 P.M. in the Middle School Cafeteria. This annual event celebrates the efforts and accomplishments of our Fine Arts students and will include displays of art, plus music and theater performances by students. This event also includes an auction, and all proceeds benefit our students. This is a don’t miss event!

Upcoming School Calendar Items:

  • Monday, April 18 - 2 hour late start

  • Monday, May 9 - Teacher Work Day (No School)

It’s a great night to be a Borderite, and, as always, a great night to be your superintendent.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christopher Granger
