Dr. Granger's Community Message April 9, 2021

Good evening students, staff, families and community,

I hope you all have been enjoying your Spring Break. The message this week is short with just a few reminders. We look forward to April 19 when all hybrid (A and B) students begin returning to the building on a weekly basis. This is a tremendous step forward as we move closer to our ultimate goal of getting all students back to in-person learning in the 2021-2022 school year. Also, please remember that online-only students will continue with remote learning for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. Next week’s message will have more details and reminders for families whose students will start coming to the building every week as of April 19.

Important Reminders:

  • Week of April 12: Only hybrid "A" students are scheduled for in-person learning this week. Hybrid "B" as well as online students will remain in remote learning for the week of April 12.

  • Middle School Athletics (Grades 7 & 8): Middle school sports will be returning with Track & Field, Girls Soccer and Baseball on April 12. Parents, please make sure your student athlete is registered before April 12 by visiting our Athletic Department webpage where you can link to the Final Forms registration system. If you have any questions contact the Athletic Department at 360-332-0394.

  • High School Athletics: Check out https://goborderites.com for event schedules, photos and other information.

  • Week of April 19: The return of all hybrid students (A and B) is scheduled for the week of April 19. Please contact your child's school with any questions.

  • Student Support Services Q&A: If your student is receiving additional support through programs such as an IEP, 504 or others please join us on Monday, April 19, at 6:00 pm for a Zoom session regarding the work our district has been doing and things ahead.

  • Daily Wellness Screening: Thank you for remembering to complete your student's wellness screening prior to 7:00am on each school day.

It is a great night to be a Borderite, and, as always, a great night to be your superintendent.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christopher Granger
